Karen HallidayLevel 2 Dyslexia Practitioner

Karen Halliday is a Level 2 Dyslexia Practitioner, at the Seacoast Learning Center, in Rochester, NH.  She is currently enrolled in the Supervisor training program, completed her Advanced Level training in 2018, Initial Level training in 2014, and has been a staff member ever since.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, taught preschool, and was a member of the AmeriCorps Reads NH program. During this time, she created after-school literacy programs, presented weekly story times and reading workshops for parents in the Strafford County area. Recently retired from the Rochester Middle School, Karen has the privilege of tutoring in her private practice as well as at the center.

Fostering a love of reading was always a passion of Karen’s. Now, having a stronger skill set, thanks to the Orton-Gillingham training and ongoing workshops, she is further inspired and committed to encouraging her students to master the concepts that will help them reach their reading potential.  Karen’s interests include spending time with her family and friends, taking brisk walks with her dog, cultivating her flowers and plants in the yard, a solid day at the beach, and of course, reading!
