Rebecca BealSupervisor, Therapist

Rebecca Beal has a background in Early Childhood Education and has worked with children all her life. She received her Bachelors of Science.in Early Childhood Education at University of New Hampshire and her Masters in Education at the University of New England.  In 2013, she retired from 24 years of teaching second grade in a public school in Maine. She began her OG journey in 2017 and discovered that it is the most amazing professional development experience she has done in her long career.  Rebecca became a Level 1 tutor in 2018, a Level 2 tutor in 2019, a supervisor in 2020, and a therapist in 2023.  She refers to herself jokingly as a “retirement-fail”, because the Children’s Dyslexia Center is her perfect job.   Helping children learn to read is the best!  She loves spending time with her extended family. She is proud of her 3 daughters and cherishes the 7 grandchildren who are the loves of her life.  She enjoys watching the birds at her birdfeeder while writing her lesson plans, caring for her chickens, and snuggling with her dog, Abby.  She enjoys traveling, camping, reading, quilting, gardening, and swimming.  She treasures being a member of a Book Group for 47 years.  The friendships that have developed and the over 500 books that have been read have changed her life.
